After completing our second session at Los Arboles Middle School, we have faced various challenges and successes. We have learned that not everything goes as planned and that sometimes we have to steer away from the plan, multiple times. Our first challenge was getting the drill to work. No one in the group had experience with power tools, therefore when we tried to use one, we were unsuccessful. We did not let that stop us, so we resorted to the old school way and used a hammer.

As we continued building the bins for the vermicompost, we tried to be as sustainable as possible. We used items that were already available at home or at the school. The students participated by bringing their own compost to feed the worms. Although we faced many setbacks through out the project, we also learned how to combat these issues. As we face issues, we learn to troubleshoot and build a stronger connection while we do so.
